Anyone can enter the Lumberjack Days Pie Contest, sponsored by Joseph's Family restaurant. Maybe you could be the next winner with that special pie recipe of yours!!

2009 LJD Pie Contest WinnersThis was a very close race, with 45 contestants trying to be number one. There is a picture taken of all of the pies that were judged, below. Because of the number of pies, we split up the pies into two groups; we also split up the judging into two groups. This helped in limiting the amount of pies we needed to sample and judge. After the first round we picked out the top five pies from each group and started the judging over. This created our final scores, one score sheet for each pie and from each judge. The final tally from everyone and the largest total points (a maximum of 50 points per judge) creates the winner. |

runner up, and Pat Cox second runner up.
The winning pie is named after the winner Barb Schmotter,”Barb's Pecan Surprise.The score for the winner was 162; the next two score are 160 and 159. |
